Treasurer’s Report:Treasurer Carla Menssen reported; Receipts for August totaled $827.10. Disbursements totaled $14,627.11. The ending checkbook balance, as of August 31, 2019, was $19,351.48, and a Total Balance of $154,502.52. B. Fire Dept: Phil was not present

Commissioner Storlie: Ginny reported that Pam Dixon has been hired as the new HR manager. The townhall meetings on the budget have all been held. Turnout was lite at most of them. She attended a workshop on the opioid epidemic. According to the Assessor, the State is looking into reclassifying vacation home rentals as commercial. This would not only increase the tax burden on these properties, it would also send more of the taxes to the state, leaving the counties short of revenue. The Commissioners will likely certify the preliminary budget with a 6% increase and work to end up close to 5%.

Road and Bridge: Rick reported that he has gotten a bid from Curt Laboda to install 3 culverts on Sugarloaf Rd. He contacted at least three others but none of them have time to install any this year. After discussion was decided to wait until next year to install the culverts and get more bids this winter. Curt Laboda has expressed interest in purchasing our old road grader. It is in need of some tender loving care and we can’t find anyone who can operate it anymore. R. Anderson moved to approve selling our CAT 12 Road Grader to Curtis Laboda, As-is, for $1,000.00. B. Martinson seconded. Motion carried.

Cemetery: Bruce reported that the damaged arch has been repaired and remounted. Clerk was asked to check if our insurance would cover repair costs.

Recreation: The bike path plowing bid notice has been published. Bids are due for next meeting.

Maintenance: The porch and walkway have been painted and look very nice. Restroom remodel scheduled for this winter.

Other Business: B. Martinson moved to approve the renewal of the liquor license for Temperance Liquors. T. McKeever seconded. Motion carried 2-0 with R. Anderson abstaining. The MN Power CAP meeting has been moved to the first week in Nov.
